Are You On Sale or Not?

Conversations with Jacob are never dull. This is especially true when it comes to explaining things to him.

Jacob: Mom, Madalena has a brother who is
Chinese

Me: He's half Chinese, and Madalena is half Chinese too like her
brother

Jacob: Why?

Me: because their dad is Chinese and their mom is not Chinese. Like you are
only half Filipino

Jacob: I'm Filipino? I didn't know I was
Filipino

Me: well, you're only half Filipino because I'm Filipino and Johnny is not
Filipino

Jacob: You're Filipino?

Me: yes

Jacob: are you half Filipino too?

Me: no, I'm not half Filipino, I'm 100% Filipino

Jacob: are you on sale?

Me: no, 100% means I'm all Filipino

Jacob: oh, so are you half Filipino?

He's just so cute and innocent and we can sit there and discuss stuff endlessly. He's a very curious boy and he always has a lot of questions. I just love my little half Filipino boy... eventhough he only half gets it.
